In Kenya, Africa Oil has provided labour and material for construction of a new concrete animal water trough, installed new pipework from the borehole to several water troughs, and serviced and re-wired the diesel generator that drives the water pump, and renovated the static water tank.

As a direct result of this initiative, a community of 3,000 individuals now have safe watering facilities for households and animals. Reliable water supply will mitigate the effects of droughts resulting in healthy livestock that can be used as food as well as source of income, resulting in an enhanced the food and economic security the area.


In Ethiopia, Africa Oil has been involved in the construction and rehabilitation of several primary schools. Solar lamps were distributed to students preparing for national examinations, both improving study conditions and reducing ill effects of exposure to kerosene.


In Puntland, Africa Oil has focused on the provision of essential services (water, health, and education) to communities. In 2011, construction of a new health centre in the Dharoor Valley was completed, significantly improving access to quality health services and outcomes for patients.
